Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were reportedly “drifting apart” for months prior to their split.
The 26-year-old pop star and Liam, 29, have separated after less than 12 months of marriage and, according to an insider, they’ve been fighting to save their relationship for a number of months.
A source told E! News: “They have been trying to make it work for months now but haven’t felt they were connecting on the level they were feeling when they got married last year.
“It’s been a rough year.”
Liam is said to be “focused on a more simplified lifestyle while Miley has been preparing for a new wave of her music career”.
The source added: “She has been ready to put out music and be back in the game touring and performing. They really grew apart.
“Miley and Liam have still been communicating and it wasn’t a messy split but they have decided they are at different points in their lives currently.”
News of Miley and Liam’s split came shortly after the pop star described their relationship as “unique”.
She said: “I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique. And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it.
“I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a f***ing apron cooking dinner? I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women.
“People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still f***ing good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most.
“I definitely don’t fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don’t even like that word.”
Priyanka Chopra is bored of being asked about “catfights” with her female co-stars.
The 37-year-old actress – who is married to pop singer Nick Jonas – thinks female stars are often unfairly pitted against each other, unlike their male counterparts.
She said: “People always ask me, ‘You’re doing a movie with a female actor. Did you guys get along? Were there catfights?’ But when it comes to boys, they say, ‘Oh, my gosh. That’s a bromance, and everyone works so well.’
“I feel like, over time, because women had the lack of opportunities, we were pitted against each other. Because there were only five places a woman could be hired and so we were elbowing each other out to get to that one spot.”
Ultimately, Priyanka blames the situation on a lack of opportunities for female performers.
She explained: “The more opportunity we create for each other, the more sisterhood will grow.
“We’re 50 percent of the world population, we need to be represented in every field. We need to be empowered by each other, by people who are in positions of power, by putting [women] in positions of power.”
Meanwhile, Priyanka recently confessed she didn’t see marriage as a priority before she met Nick.
The ‘Quantico’ actress put her career before anything else until she came face-to-face with the hunky singer.
Priyanka – who married Nick in 2018 – said: “I took choices in my life where my career mattered to me and I didn’t find the right guy.
“I had to make sure that that pressure isn’t the end-all and be-all.”
Jameela Jamil has called on “other influencers, actors, and models” to join her in the fight against airbrushing.
The 33-year-old actress – who stars in ‘The Good Place’ – has issued the call on social media after she successfully campaigned to have her own image remain untouched following a promotional photoshoot.
She wrote on Twitter: “Finally able to INSIST my image, even on billboards isn’t ever airbrushed. I get backfat in Every. Single. Bra. And I used to hide/bin so many photos because of “muffin tops.” Double chins/ “imperfections” because I never saw them on people on TV.#freethebackfat #letab***hlive
“I’m aware this isn’t some huge victory, and not “brave” but as someone who had such obsessive body dysmorphia and was so fixated on the embarrassment of what we perceive as “flaws” this is just a little win for little anorexic teenage me.
“I know it’s hard because we are perpetually scrutinized and criticized in this industry, but I’m begging other influencers, actors, and models to join me in not allowing airbrushing. We have to stop setting standards for others that we ourselves don’t even meet. (sic)”
Jameela was subsequently inundated with supportive messages from her followers.
The actress admitted to being “blown away by the response” – and she then encouraged her fans to wear whatever they want.
She said: “Guys, I’m blown away by the response to this. You deserve to wear whatever the fork you like, whenever you like and not feel like you are breaking some sort of “rule.” PLEASE WEAR the Shorts/strapless dresses/skirts/jeans/bathing suits… it’s hot outside dammit (sic)”
Anna Friel got a dog because she was so “lonely” working on her new TV show.
The 43-year-old actress – who has daughter Gracie, 14, with former partner David Thewlis – shot ‘Deep Water’ in the Lake District and though it was a “beautiful” setting, she felt very isolated and ended up finding a canine pal to keep her company as she’d never spent so much time alone.
She said: “It was beautiful but it rained nearly every day and we never got to go out for a drink once.
“There was no phone signal.
“It was refreshing and healthy for our minds but as far as keeping in contact with the outside world, it wasn’t easy.
“It was six hours door to door for me to get to Gracie.
“I spent more time on my own than I probably ever have.
“Most evenings or weekends, I didn’t see anyone. It was quite a lonely experience – that’s not being negative, just honest.
“When Gracie came, I just said, ‘Shall we go and get a dog?’ I got myself a pomapoo called Eunice!”
Anna got some experience with dogs while shooting the drama but admitted they weren’t very easy to handle.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I did have to handle two dalmatians and you’re not meant to put them together as they both want to dominate.
“There was a lot of driving around in the car and we had to keep the windows up because of the sound recordings so the aroma was breath-taking.”
The actress has a sex scene in the show and the hardest part of shooting the intimate moment was trying to stay warm.
She said: “I had nothing on underneath the dress to keep me warm – not even Spanx.
“We had a wonderful wardrobe team who gave us hot water bottles in between takes but we all got used to being cold.”
