Cher Proud To Be Part of Syria Documentary; Records New Song

Music icon Cher and forever her loyal following have a lot to look forward to in 2017. The diva’s Classic Cher Residency Tour kicks off on February 10, 2017 in Las Vegas.  In the meantime, a reading of the much anticipated bio musical, “The Cher Show” will take place January 3-17 in New York City.


Cher tweeted about going back into the studio last summer to record new music. Her legion of fans anxiously awaited more details. This week fans learned that Cher will be releasing a new song in January. The song, written by famed “If I Could Turn Back Time” composer, Diane Warren, is called, “Prayers for the World.” It is the title song in a documentary which chronicles the war on Syria called, “Cries from Syria.

Cher is thrilled to be a part of the film tweeting “Did title song for a project I’m so proud of. Maybe as much as anything else,” calling Warren a “genius.”

The film debuts at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
