Actress, singer, & super model Rebecca Holden, who starred as April Curtis in the hit TV series Knight Rider got a sweet offer – $150,000 to fly to Dubai, plus three first class tickets, Presidential Suite, $10K for clothes & makeup, $30K agency commission, plus $210 to be donated to a charity in a formal presentation – all in exchange for making a quick speech at an economic empowerment convention and a personal appearance at a black tie gala.
Coincidentally, this offer was courtesy of the same scammers who tried to rip off the Baywatch girls and Dog The Bounty Hunter.
Rebecca’s multi platinum record producer, Joel Diamond, was contacted by people purporting to be from the office of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan – the Deputy Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates. This would also be an opportunity for Rebecca to promote her new film that she is starring in (and singing the title song) called Canaanland, debut her new Duets CD (performed with all iconic million selling artists), and finally talk about a new film & documentary she is Executive Producing called Victoria’s Voice, the story of mogul David Siegel’s daughter dying of overdose.
Actual contracts were received by email with all the details and at first blush it looked pretty legitimate. Fortunately, April Curtis, computer whiz from Knight Rider, saw right through this deception, and Rebecca certainly is not planning a Dubai trip any time soon.
