“I’ve always had a lot of fun as a guest on the air at KISW,” says MCKAGAN. “We figured it was about time they completely turned the reins over to me for an hour.”
In other news, DUFF MCKAGAN’S LOADED is touring the U.S. in support of their new CD SICK, while the album’s first single “Flatline” is buzzing at radio. The group will head overseas for various European festival and club dates in June. While on tour, DUFF continues to pen the weekly Playboy.com “Duffonomics” financial column (www.playboy.com/duffonomics) and contributes the “Reverb” column to Seattle Weekly (http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/reverb/duff_mckagan/).
Meanwhile, Sick is garnering praise from the media. Here’s a sample of what the critics are saying:
“McKagan viciously demonstrates his versatility, delivering attitude-laden vocals and choppy guitar riffs…Major Duff-kickings occur on the title track, where unfettered, Ramones-ish energy transforms a ‘Looks That Kill’-style riff, and ‘Flatline’ which sticks the Beatles on the night train.”—Lucas Aykroyd, Revolver, June 2009
