Robert Miller’s Project Grand Slam, the celebrated jazz/rock fusion band, announced today that their new CD, “Greetings From Serbia” (Cakewalk/The Orchard), will be released on January 18, 2019.

Greetings From Serbia features the band’s performance at the 2018 Nisville Jazz Festival in Nis, Serbia recorded ‘live’ on August 18th before 10,000+ screaming fans.

Branislav Dejanovic, Artistic Director of the Festival, said: “Project Grand Slam was amazing!” The Nisville festival was one of 7 music festivals that Project Grand Slam headlined at in 2018.

Greetings From Serbia features dynamic live performances of many of the songs from Project Grand Slam’s 6th and most celebrated album, Trippin’ (Cakewalk/The Orchard) released in June 2018, including the original songs “You Started Something”, “1972”, “Lament”, “No No No”, “Gorilla” and “The Queen’s Carnival”, plus PGS’s unique reimagined versions of Cream’s “I’m So Glad”, Phish’s “Free”, The Who’s “I Can’t Explain” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire”.

Trippin’ topped the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart in August and remained in the Top 10 through September. Reviews of the CD were stupendous, including the following: “‘Trippin’ promises to be one of the most talked about albums of 2018…I have no doubt that it’s going to be the biggest jazz release of the latter half of the 2010s” (Skope Mag); “Trippin’ is already garnering enough praise to make it a major contender in the race for album of the year…this is unquestionably the band to watch as we enter the 2020s” (TheIndieSource.com); “A truly amazing album” (Jonathan Widran); and “Musicianship beyond reproach. 5/5 Stars” (Keith ‘MuzikMan’ Hannaleck). Trippin’ was just named one of the top albums of the year by The Improper.

In addition to festivals, PGS headlined in 2018 at numerous performing arts centers and other major venues, and shared the stage with the likes of Blues Traveler; Edgar Winter; Boney James; YES; and Mindi Abair.

Says bassist/leader/composer Miller, “Greetings From Serbia really captures the energy, drive and spirit of band in concert. The band is at the top of our game.”

Miller and PGS appear this week at The Loft @ City Winery in NYC.
