The first trailer to the highly anticipated, “Captain Marvel,” finally dropped this morning on Good Morning America, giving fans their official first look of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers live, and in action.
The trailer is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, reprising his role as a younger Nick Fury. This was also the first time we got to see Clark Gregg reprise his role, once again, as a de-aged Agent Phil Coulsen.
Set in the 1990s, viewers will get to see a different type of origin story compared to any other told thus far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially being that Captain Marvel marks Marvel Studio’s first ever female leading superhero film.
“You’re going to get the most powerful superhero we’ve ever introduced and what I think is one of the most unique and inspiring origin stories,” Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige stated earlier this year when asked about the upcoming film.
Captain Marvel’s first entrance to the MCU was back in April during Avenger’s Infinity War. In the post-credit scene, fans were delighted to see the return of Nick Fury signaling out to Captain Marvel after the dramatic conclusion to the third installment. Thus making Carol Danvers possibly the one to help defeat Thanos in the untitled fourth Avengers film, scheduled to be released in May of 2019.
Captain Marvel is set to hit theaters everywhere March 9, 2019. Check out the full trailer below.
