VAN HALEN REUNION NIXED — (Via Ultimate Classic RockFormer Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony ruled out a summer return to the band, despite speculation that has linked him with a reunion in recent months.

The possibility of Van Halen returning to the road for the first time since 2015 was first mentioned by frontman David Lee Roth in an interview last year, when he said the group were planning a “reunion thing” for a stadium tour.

Later, former singer Sammy Hagar said that tentative discussions to include Anthony (but not Hagar) on that tour had taken place and, later still, reported that he was ready to put the Circle, his current band featuring Anthony, on hold if the Van Halen tour went ahead.

Anthony last played with Van Halen’s Hagar-fronted lineup in 2004, and with the Roth-fronted version of the group in 1984. Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang has played bass with the group since 2007.

Mick Jagger

JAGGER SIDELINED — Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band legend Stevie Van Zandt has broken some great news about The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, saying that the illness he has is ‘insignificant’ and that he’ll quickly recover.

Stevie said, “I’ve been told by someone who knows that Mick Jagger’s ailment is thankfully temporary and insignificant. The Rolling Stones’ immortal endurance continues to inspire all of us!

TMZ reported, “Mick Jagger might have to sit out a new tour due to illness, but he was all smiles a day after breaking the news … an encouraging sign, to say the least.

The Rolling Stones frontman was seen hanging at his Miami Beach oceanfront home Sunday — marking the first time he’s been spotted since the band announced they were pulling the plug on their North American tour, which was set to get started in April.

He looks to be in good spirits here, which has got to be a relief to RS fans.

As we reported … the Stones cited doctors’ orders to sit Mick out, saying Mick needs medical treatment and was told to skip the tour. They also made a note that he’s expected to fully recover the undisclosed ailment.”

Keith Richards said about Jagger’s health issues, “A big disappointment for everyone but things need to be taken care of and we will see you soon. Mick, we are always there for you!”

Ronnie Wood tweeted, “We’ll miss you over the next few weeks, but we’re looking forward to seeing you all again very soon. Here’s to Mick 💪 ~ thanks for your supportive messages it means so much to us 🎸🎶🎤 🎸🎶 @RollingStones.”

SHORT TAKES —In Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of “The View”  by Ramin Setoodeh; the biggest surprise is that this show is still on! Creator Barbara Walters hasn’t been on in years and though Setoodeh claims she revolutionized TV, but, to me, the show was just a re-boot of Regis & Kathie Lee … which was a thousand times better.  I’m half-way through the book and somewhat bored … Remember that whole Liam Neeson brouhaha that erupted several months ago? Neeson’s issued a follow-up statement. It was right before his latest movie Cold Pursuit opened (I saw the movie and it was pretty good) when the original story crept up. Think what you will, but the latest statement is as eloquent as ever. We’ll have an exclusive interview with them both next week. Book is out on May 7 via Skyhorse Publishing …Will Joe Biden be brought down by this accusation from this woman from Nevada? Amazing times. Shaking hands will be outlawed soon … Fashion-influencer Wendy Stuart Kaplan lunching with disco-icon Rollerena in the Village Friday …PR-pasha David Salidor celebrating his 35th anniversary of his dis COMPANY at Table 87 in Brooklyn Heights … Micky Dolenz confirmed for My Father’s Place on October 6. Two shows. Eppy is ecstatic!
