Tom Hiddleston made his first post on social media since 2017, confirming that he will reprising his role as Loki, the God of Mischief for Disney+’s upcoming new streaming service.
The rumors about the possible upcoming TV show based on the fan favorite character has been circulating since the end of summer. Disney announced a string of exclusive shows based off of Marvel Studios and Star Wars films that would be available specifically for their upcoming streaming service.
This past week, Disney CEO Bob Iger, announced not only that the service will be called, “Disney+” but confirmed two upcoming TV shows to be featured on it. The first, a new Star Wars series starring Diego Luna based off of his character from “Rogue One.” The second series announced was Tom Hiddleston returning to reprise the role of Loki.
Tom Hiddleston took to social media to share his excitement for the return of his beloved character, which was his first interaction with any type of social media platform in years.
“Loki. More stories to tell. More mischief to make. More to come,” Hiddleston took to Twitter as fans began to pour their praise towards it.
No details on what the new series will focus on regarding the God of Mischief yet. However, the streaming service website was up and running late yesterday, inviting potential customers to sign up for a newsletter for future updates.
