The Force is strong with this one: a new “Star Wars” teaser trailer has surfaced.
Revealed as part of the Star Wars Celebration, an Orlando “Star Wars” convention marking 40 years since the release of the first film in the franchise,” the clip provides a sneak peak at “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” the sequel to the 2015 J.J. Abrams-directed film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
In the new film, directed by Rian Johnson (“Brick,” “The Brothers Bloom”) Daisy Ridley again stars as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. Carrie Fisher, who died in December, will return as Leia. Her daughter, Billie Lourd, will also play a role. Mark Hamill is back as Luke Skywalker, who was last seen with Rey in a brief, wordless role at the end of “The Force Awakens.”
Joining the cast will be Kelly Marie Tran, as a member of the resistance named Rose. A new poster was also released for the film.
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opens on Dec. 15.
